Andy Lally Steals the Show at the XFINITY Series

Did you see it? Everybody’s talking about it.

Twitter was roaring with support Saturday afternoon as MotorCrush cofounder Andy Lally ripped across the finish line at the NASCAR XFINITY Series race at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course – leading the SS Green Light race team to a fifth place finish.

But it wasn’t just the career-best finish for our guy Andy, it was the way he did it.

The race announcers were totally on point when they raved that Andy was “running a passing clinic.”

With the MotorCrush team cheering him on from the pit, Lally powered through the 75-lap race, passing competitors left and right and leaving the other 35 racers in the dust. This underdog performance puts Lally in the minds of all NASCAR fans, as he stood among the giants of the NASCAR XFINITY Series on the leaderboard. NASCAR great Mark Martin even tweeted his support to Lally.

After the race, Andy said Martin’s tweet “stopped me in my tracks.” He seemed more excited about Martin’s commentary than his own eye-popping performance!

What’s next? See you back in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Virginia International Raceway on August 27th.
